Rutland Water.  Set in 4200 acres of open countryside, Rutland Water Park is the central rural attraction in England's smallest county of Rutland and offers activities for all the family.

Serviced by a 25-mile circular track for both walking and cycling. Cycle hire is available if you don't want to bring your own. Getting out and enjoying the water couldn't be easier at the Watersports Centre and Sailing Clubs. Even a novice can get out on the water. Rutland Water Park offers world-class trout fishing and bird watching. The Nature Reserve is (summer only) home to the first breeding Ospreys in England for 150 years.

Rockingham Castle. Built by William the Conqueror and the best example of a Norman Castle in Britain.   Open from Easter and a family home owned by the same family for 450 years.

Burghley House. On the outskirts of Stamford is Englands greatest Elizabethan House.    Queen Elizabeth I had Burghley House build for her Lord High Treasurer, William Cecil.    The house, gardens are open to the public from March to October.    Burghley is also home to the annual Burghley Horse Trials where international riders compete over a 3 day event.

Belvoir Castle. The ancestral home of the Duke and Duchess of Rutland for 1000 years .   Open from March to October with free guided tours on weekdays.

National Space Centre. In Leicester, a great day out for the family and the largest attraction in the UK dedicated to space.

King Richard III Visitor Centre. The visitor centre created around the poignant spot where King Richard III’s remains were buried for more than half a millennia. Open daily, tickets can be purchased online in advance
